This is a Blog to discuss, list resources, and come up with strategies to draw people who've left the church back. I thought it might be important track our development so I'll post the emails that have got us to this point.

Steve emailed us all this:

Hey Team,

Someone recently wrote that 40% of American adults do not go to Church because they feel PERSONALLY let down or hurt by religion.

These people are intentionally avoiding us because of real or perceived hurts and disappointments.

And when they DO show up they often give us only one chance to change their minds before bolting again.

That usually isn’t enough, and the devil often sabotages even that one experience.

So…let’s start talking about these people. Let’s try to understand them.

Then let’s do some strategizing with the goal of wooing some of them back to Church, and into Cornerstone.

Of course, SOME of them will not respond to us…

And some of them actually ARE the problem, and just blaming religion…

Some of them have over-exaggerated what happened to them or someone they know…

Some of them did things that they forget to tell us, making them LESS of a victim than what they communicate…

But SO WHAT.

That’s what hurting people do.

But I think that if we are intentional, and consistent, many hurting prodigals will return to the Father THROUGH US!

Let’s see if we can list of the top 5-10 reasons people have been hurt or disappointed by religion.

Let’s start reading the best books, articles, and blogs on this topic.

Then let’s develop strategies to attempt to woo people into Cornerstone and back to the Lord.
